Round 2 (42): Ronnie Perkins, EDGE Oklahoma
Outside of their need for more help on the offensive line, adding pass rushers is the second biggest need heading into next week’s draft.
Oklahoma’s Ronnie Perkins would make a lot of sense to fill that void.
The 6-foot-3 edge rusher recorded at least five sacks in each of his three college season’s including six in 2019 and 5.5 in 2020. Perkins who ran a solid 4.71 second 40-yard dash has been praised by scouts for his physicality and his speed has been considered “enough” to make plays in the NFL.
He is often compared to former Saints and now Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson who made 11.5 sacks last season thus, if he could live up to that potential, he’d be a massive addition to the Giants’ defense.
