The Yankees Bullpen Is On Fire

The Yankees have not gotten out to a good start this season, but if there is one positive to look at it’s how dominant the bullpen has been

The Yankees have once again started slow to begin a true 162 game season. At this point, we all should just assume the team will always start slow and pick it up after 20 games. The offense looks dead and the team as a whole looks lifeless.

There is one positive that has come out of this slow start, and that is the bullpen looks dominant again. . It was a concern coming into the season as the Yankees lost Zack Britton to surgery and up until yesterday Justin Wilson was on the IL. The bullpen was a big question mark but now it is one of the best units in the entire league

One of the biggest surprises in the bullpen has been the complete turnaround of Jonathan Loaisiga. Over the past two seasons, Loaisiga has been searching for his spot on the team. The Yankees have put him in the rotation and in the bullpen, but until this year he never had a true spot.

Now he does and he is starting to look a lot like 2017 Chad Green. Being used as a multi-inning arm, Loaisiga has not given up a run yet this year and with his improved changeup looks almost unhittable.

Nick Nelson has also looked good this year and if the bullpen can continue to make these strides then once the team finally starts hitting, they should be in a great position for a long winning streak
