2. 4-run 11th inning propels Yanks to victory (2019)

One day later, the Yankees and Rays were locked in another extra innings battle that saw the Bombers emerge victorious. Unlike the day before, the Yankees jumped on the board first as Aaron Judge stroked a solo home run in the top of the first to give New York an early 1-0 lead.

In the top of the fifth, with the game tied at one, the Yankees regained the lead as Tauchman singled home a pair of runs to give New York a 3-1 lead. Tampa pulled within one in the bottom half of the inning as Mike Zunino took Masahiro Tanaka deep and then in the bottom of the seventh fell behind as Kevin Kiermaier hit a two-run single to put Tampa ahead 4-3. The Yankees quickly answered back as in the top of the eighth, Hicks crushed a solo home run to tie the game at four.

The game rolled onto extra innings, where in the top of the 11th, the Yankees used the long ball to pull ahead. Judge led off the inning with his second home run of the game, putting New York ahead 5-4 and later in the inning, Brett Gardner lined a three-run shot to put the Yankees ahead 8-4.

After Hale put two men on with one out in the bottom half of the inning, Chapman came on and shut the door giving the Yankees a second straight extra inning 8-4 win.

Final: Yankees 8, Rays, 4 F/11
