With the New York Giants officially set to pick 11th in the 2021 Draft, here’s a look at the first full mock draft for Big Blue of the offseason.
Despite finishing within just one win of an NFC East title, the New York Giants posted their third-straight 10-loss season in 2020 as they finished the season 6-10 and in second place in the NFC East.
With that, the Giants’ attention turns to the offseason, where general manager Dave Gettleman and head coach Joe Judge will look to add enough talent to Big Blue back to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
The Giants currently have six draft picks in the 2021 NFL Draft and have secured the 11th overall selection with their 6-10, second-place finish.
With that, here’s a look at our first full offseason mock draft for the New York Giants.
Round 1 (11): WR DeVonta Smith, Alabama
If Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith remains on the board when the Giants make their selection at 11th overall, the team must select him.
Smith became the first wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy since 1991 in 2020 after making 105 catches for 1,641 yards and 20 touchdowns. Despite these incredible stats, he is not quite done yet as he still has another game to play in as Alabama will play in the National Championship Game Monday against Ohio State.
The 6-foot-1 wideout also is a stellar kick and punt returner and has the ability to score any time he touches the ball. With the Giants in need of a true No. 1 receiver, Smith would immediately fill the void.
