It is never too early to talk about the offseason and with a good free-agent class awaiting who should the Yankees go after?
Hopefully this time next year we aren’t talking about the offseason, but instead are celebrating a World Series title. Sadly, we must wait another year and have a very important offseason on the horizon. No one truly knows how the market will play out after Covid set back every team financially, but the Yankees always have the money to spend. Here are three players the Yankees must go after.
Is this one even a question? The Yankees once again need starting pitching help. Who better to fill the number two spot then should be NL CY Young winner Trevor Bauer. Bauer was the best pitching in the NL this year, pitching to a 1.73 ERA and striking out 100 batters in 73 innings. Trevor Bauer is a game-change for any team in baseball, but pair him with a top three pitcher in Gerrit Cole and the Yankees could have the best one-two punch in baseball.
Oh, and in the summer months next year, Sevy is expected to be back so just imagine that three-headed monster. If the Yankees truly want to go out and win it all, signing Trevor Bauer is a must as the rotation(minus Cole) was too shaking in the playoffs.
