Yankees: 3 Gary Sanchez Trade Proposals

Yankees Get: IF/OF, Jahmai Jones

Angels Get: C, Gary Sanchez

The Yankees may be in a situation where they have to watch DJ LeMahieu play in another uniform next season.

LeMahieu will be a free agent this offseason and figures to have several suitors that may just end up outbidding the Yankees for his services. If so, the Yankees should flip Sanchez for his replacement.

Jahmai Jones is the Angels seventh-ranked prospect who was drafted in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft and made his MLB debut in 2020. In three big-league games with the Angels, Jones slashed .429/.429/.429 as he recorded three hits and an RBI.

In 2019, Jones struggled in Double-A, but MLB pipeline grades the second basemen and outfielder as a high-speed, contact and fielder who can also play center field.

The Yankees have had a lack of versatility and speed on their roster for several years now, making Jones a potentially perfect fit for their roster with or without LeMahieu.
