Despite a new postseason format this year, MLB has let their stars shine on a grand stage and prove how bright the future of the sport is.
The future is so bright for our beloved pastime.
The wild card round was awesome.
The pure love to play.
The unadulterated drive to win.
The best thing ? It felt “normal”.
In a time of such a small bit of normalcy, playoff baseball made things feel right, and as fans start to resume attendance, it’s gonna be like a movie. Purely magical.
But now with the wild card round coming to an end, the crazy upstart Miami Marlins moving forth to the divisional round, I gotta address this…
We have to embrace Fernando Tatis Jr. and players like him a lot more.
The playoffs have soooo much young talent still playing in it with the likes of, Jazz Chisholm, Sixto Sanchez, Ronald Acuna Jr, Ozzie Albies, Gleyber Torres, and of course Fernando Tatis Jr; amongst so many more.
This is the future. The energetic, bat flipping, chain wearing, customized cleat donning, future; and it’s so beautiful.
The wild card round had Tatis Jr bat flipping the Padres on his back, Gleyber Torres playing to an MVP-esque level, the young and unexpected Marlins team THRASHING the Cubs in Chicago, and hell; the White Sox , who will surely be back in this spot, got eliminated by the A’s, but their young talent showed immensely in their Three-game series versus in Oakland.
As a baseball fan, there’s so much to be excited about with the future of this sport… and starting tonight we have…
*DRUM ROLL PLEASE*
