Shortstop: Francisco Lindor
If the Yankees want to send a message to the rest of MLB that the Evil Empire is still alive and well, trading for Cleveland Indians star shortstop Francisco Lindor would do just that.
Lindor is a four-time all-star, two-time gold glove award winner and two-time silver slugger award winner who is set to become a free agent after the 2021 season.
With Cleveland a small market team, ownership has already admitted they will be unable to resign him long-term. Thus, Lindor will likely be on the move as the Indians seek compensation for his loss.
If the Indians do move him, the Yankees can prove they’re all in on 2021 by adding him to the roster and attempting to sign him long-term.
