With the New York Yankees struggles, we look ahead to what a dream 2021 lineup could look like if the team decides to go all-in next season.
The 2020 season has gone downhill fast for the New York Yankees. New York started the season 8-1 through nine games and 16-6 through 22 but since are just 6-15 and have a 22-21 record on the season.
While the Yankees still are likely to make the postseason as a wild card, a mix of poor play and a battle with the injury bug make it hard to believe their chances at winning their 28th world championship this season are high.
If the Yankees decide to go all-in for 2021 and dominate the offseason, here’s a look at what their opening day infield may look like.

Catcher: J.T. Realmuto
The Gary Sanchez era needs to end. Since his all-star 2017 season, the Yankees catcher has failed to live up to his high expectations and in 2020, has been historically bad.
Sanchez is slashing a woeful .121/.230/.327 with seven home runs and 15 RBI’s. Thus, the team needs to get the best free-agent catcher in Phillies backstop J.T. Realmuto.
Realmuto is a two-time all-star who is slashing .259/.351/.519 with 10 home runs and 27 RBI’s in 2020.
He would give the Yankees both a boost both defensively and offensively, making him a must-add if the Yankees do put together a monster offseason.
