The trade deadline is coming up and the Yankees are in need of a starting pitcher, but with so many options, who could the Yankees go after?
The trade deadline is only a day away and many teams have already started to make trades. The Yankees have some holes that need to be filled, but with COVID things could get weird. Nonetheless, The Yankees will most likely make a trade for an arm. Here are three potential trade targets for the Yankees.
Lance Lynn is probably the best target for the Yankees right now. Since he left the Yankees, Lynn has found himself again with the Rangers becoming a top 10 pitcher in baseball. In 2019 with the Rangers, Lynn went 16-11 with a 3.67 ERA and struck out 246 batters in 208 innings. That was good enough for fifth place in CY Young voting. So far this year Lynn is even better, as he owns a 4-1 record with a 1.93 ERA. Lynn would no doubt come with a high price tag, but what makes him the best choice right now is the extra year on his contract. Unlike a lot of trade targets this year, Lynn won’t be a rental and the Yankees could use him as a solid 2-3 pitcher in our rotation.
