Yankees: Biggest Winners and Losers From First Five Games

Winner: DJ LeMahieu

Clearly, a battle with COVID-19 has not slowed down DJ LeMahieu. The Yankee infielder sat out on opening day as he continued to work his way back into game-day shape, but since his return has made an immediate impact on the New York lineup.

In four games, LeMahieu is hitting .412 with a home run and three RBI’s. LeMahieu’s best game so far came Wednesday in Baltimore as he went 4-5 with a home run and two RBI’s coming up a triple short of the cycle.

LeMahieu will also be a free agent at seasons’ end and each day is proving why the Yankees will likely look to make him one of baseball’s highest-paid infielders this offseason.
