The 2020 baseball season will be unlike anything we have ever watched before for the Yankees, so with that being said, what should we expect?
Yankees baseball is finally back after the owners and Players Association have finally come to a deal to play a 60 game season at the team’s home ballparks with no fans. The Yankees will play the AL East and the NL East. What do we expect from the Bombers in this 60 game shootout?
The Yankees were a favorite to win the 2020 World Series back in March and they are still considered to be now. In a 60 game shootout, there shouldn’t be any problems making it into the postseason. If everything goes the right way, this should be a walk in the park for the Yankees with the teams they have to face. This is baseball though and anything can happen. A bad start for any team could end their season.
The toughest opponent in the AL East would be the Rays. They basically have the same team as last season and have won 90 games two seasons in a row. The Braves are the favorite in the NL East along with the World Series defending Nationals right behind them and both teams could be a problem for the Yankees. The Mets and Phillies could make a run but shouldn’t be a problem.
The Bronx Bombers should win about 40 games or more with the opponents they have to play. Anything can happen but if they stay healthy there’s no reason why they should lose to teams like the Orioles, Marlins, and the Blue Jays. Altogether the season will be fun to watch since we haven’t had baseball all year and Yankee fans should see another successful season of baseball.
