First Base: Gary Sanchez (32)

Gary Sanchez is no Yadier Molina or Buster Posey. He’s not athletic enough to play catcher well into his 30’s, but his bat will keep him in the majors for a very long time.

Thus, Sanchez’s future projects to be at first base where he can still stay in the rhythm of playing the field every day and allow the Yankees to keep his powerful bat in the lineup without him aging quicker from behind the plate. The Yankees need a healthy Sanchez for the long-haul and they won’t get that unless he’s eventually moved to first base or the designated hitter spot.
