Why The Yankees Should Trade Clint Frazier

With the trade deadline coming up, Clint Frazier seemingly has no spot in the organization, so, it may be time for the Yankees to finally trade him.

Clint Frazier has been nothing but an exceptional hitter for the Yankees. While his fielding is lacking, he is most defiantly an above serviceable Designated Hitter. However, his trade value is as high as it has ever been right now, and there is a reason that Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has elected to keep him in Triple-A, and that is to keep his value high. But with the open market, not star studied unlike last year, who would the Yankees trade Clint Frazier for at the deadline?

I think the only trade the Yankees would make involving Frazier is shipping him to Cleveland for Trevor Bauer. Bauer in 21 games, has posted a 4.25 FIP, 1.19 WHIP, a 77 ERA+, while allowing 1.30 HR/9. Trevor Bauer has the makings of an ace; an ace that the Yankees desperately need right now.

There are guys on the market like Marcus Stroman, Matt Boyd, and Madison Bumgarner, but none of them have pitched as well as Bauer. For the Indians, this trade would also make sense, as they have one of the weakest Outfield in baseball, headlined by Oscar Mercado and Tyler Naquin.

However, if the Indians traded Bauer they would most likely be sellers, and try to stockpile young assets just as the Astros and the Cubs did in there rebuild. Both teams would go onto to be World Series winners and still contend for the World Series year in and year out.
