New York Yankees: Giancarlo Stanton Is Heating Up At The Perfect Time

Giancarlo Stanton’s career with the New York Yankees may have started off slow, but it seems like he is getting red-hot at the perfect time.

New York Yankees fans were in panic mode during the first two months of the season due to Giancarlo Stanton‘s disappointing start through the months of April and May and rightfully so. In April, Stanton put up a slash line of just .218/.304/.356, however, he made progress in May when he slashed .264/.330/.516.

While his average was up in May, his power numbers were not what we were used to seeing, blasting only nine home runs in the first two months. Many fans did not lose hope though because they knew we were heading into the summer months where Stanton would hopefully shine, and he has done just thought.

With the weather feeling like Miami and a very hitter’s friendly park in the Bronx, Stanton is finally starting to heat up and has had one of the best runs in baseball in the month of June. He has put up a slash line of .306/.373/.602 while crushing an outstanding eight home runs, which nearly matches his April and May totals in just the month of June alone. And for anyone who thinks he won’t keep this up, guess again, because it’s only getting better for the 2017 National League MVP.

In the last fifteen days alone, Stanton is sporting an average of .379 and rocking an OPS of 1.086 while proving to be one of the games hottest hitters over this stretch and coming at the right time for the Yankees. With struggling star catcher Gary Sanchez being put on the disabled list, the Bronx bombers needed someone to spark the offense and Stanton has picked up the offense much like the team did when he struggled the first couple months of the season.

The outfielder has also shown flashes of greatness so far whenever he is placed in the field. It doesn’t matter if he is in left or right, if he is in there he is going to find a way to make any play necessary, even if it means crashing into walls.

Stanton shows no signs of slowing down and the Yankees are going to need everyone to step up due to the fact they are in such a close battle for the AL East with their rival Boston Red Sox. With Boston coming to Yankee Stadium this weekend, it should make for a thrilling matchup between the two clubs.

If Stanton can keep this up and the rest of the lineup does what we all know they are capable of doing, there is no doubt the Yankees can run away in this division by the time the summer months come to an end.
