Yankees: Patrick Corbin Wants To Come To The Bronx

The Yankees need pitching help and Diamondbacks ace, Patrick Corbin wants to come to the Bronx. This could potentially become a match made in heaven.

As the baseball season gets rolling, teams true colors begin to show.

Per USA Today, Patrick Corbin was quoted saying: “It would definitely be great to play there; I grew up a Yankee fan. My whole family are Yankee fans. My mom, my dad, my grandpa, everybody. Really, every generation of my family has been Yankee fans.”

The 29-year-old lefty is in the final year of his contract with the D-Backs is having a stellar beginning to 2018 with a 4-0 record, 1.89 ERA, and 48 strikeouts in just over 33 innings of work, and the Yankees are most definitely in the market for a legitimate, solid lefty arm in the starting rotation whom they’d inevitably work out a deal to lock Corbin down for a few more years.

Corbin would bring an immediate impact and a much-needed effectiveness in this tough AL East divisional race. The Yankees need another reliable arm in this marathon that is the baseball season and he fits the mold of what the Yankees need.

Rumors floated around about the Yanks acquiring Corbin this offseason and they ended up doing a deal with the D-Backs but ended up acquiring infielder Brandon Drury and Corbin, unfortunately, wasn’t included.

A Yankees team with the potential to have a very dangerous lineup is beginning to come to manifestation. The Gleyber era has begun, Andújar is absolutely raking, and a young core of budding superstars Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez and Luis Severino has shown it’s coming out parties over the last couple seasons; the likes of Torres and Andújar being in the Bronx for many years to come; the POTENTIAL of a (so far) injury prone Greg Bird, and the acquisition of Giancarlo Stanton, this team can be dangerous immediately, and for years to come. But there’s been one obvious black eye on this team this season and that’s been some bad pitching.

Sonny Gray seems to be unable to pitch at his talent level in the spotlight of being a New York Yankee, Jordan Montgomery is hit or miss, Tanaka has been the epitome of steaming hot / on fire at times or absolutely freezing cold and being shelled relentlessly, CC has been solid but as we know he isn’t exactly young anymore, the only answer we know is that Luis Severino is legitimately a star and a Cy Young caliber arm.

Rumors have arisen that Arizona Diamondbacks stud lefty Patrick Corbin is available and would love to be a Yankee, and I believe the Yankees need to pull the trigger and make the move.

Keep your eye on this situation as the Yankees seemed poised to make a move and this could be the one that actually occurs.
