The Yankees suffered their first loss of the 2018 season at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays in devastating fashion while suffering multiple injuries.

In heartbreaking fashion, the New York Yankees have suffered their inevitable first loss of the 2018 season. Besides Tyler Austin, the bats were cold and the pitching had their share of struggles.
Tyler Austin was the entirety of the Yankees offense on Saturday afternoon, launching two game-tying home runs in the fifth and seventh innings.
However, besides that, the Yankees offense could not figure out Marco Estrada whatsoever and only tallied four hits throughout the entire game.
CC Sabathia had a solid first start of the season going five innings, surrendering only one earned run and striking out four batters. It all went to waste after the bullpen came in and blew it.
Adam Warren was only able to record two outs before suffering an injury and having to leave the game after a line drive hit him in the leg. Jonathan Holder would relieve Warren, but he would be unable to prevent the baserunner from scoring.
It all went downhill went Dellin Betances came in for his second inning of work and served up a leadoff home run to Yangervis Solarte and then allowed Kevin Pillar to steal home later on in the inning.
It was all-around just a game that New York would like to put behind them heading into Sunday.
Injury Woes

The Yankees just can’t seem to avoid the injury bug as of late, suffering two new ones on Saturday afternoon after Billy McKinney and Adam Warren were forced to leave the game with injuries.
McKinney was diagnosed with a shoulder sprain while we are still waiting to hear what is wrong with Warren, if it is something he will have to miss time for.
UPDATE: Warren’s x-rays came back negative and was diagnosed with a contusion.
What’s Next
The Yankees will return to Rogers Centre on Sunday afternoon to try and put Saturday behind them and take the series against the Jays.
Sonny Gray will take the mound for New York and will go up against Marcus Stroman, both making their regular season debut.
